The BSPTO is the Parent-Teacher Organization at Bethany Elementary School. Every parent or guardian of a child at Bethany and every Teacher is automatically a member of the BSPTO.
The BSPTO supports staff, students and their families by providing supplemental resources, volunteer support and community building activities that enhance the academic environment. We pay for supplies, grant money to teachers, art literacy, Geography Quest, computers, playground equipment, and more. We also fund and organize community events at Bethany, such as the Haunted Hallway, staff appreciation, family movie nights and many more.
Join us for the monthly meetings which are typically held on the first Tuesday of the month during the school year. They are a wonderful way to discuss current events and needs at the school and participate in making decisions about programs & finances. We also exchange important information with our Principal, Casey Lange. Please see the calendar for our meeting dates and times.
We pay all costs, from admission to transportation, for field trips.
Teacher Checks help offset the out of pocket expense teacher’s pay to outfit the classroom.
Walk To Read
The BSPTO supports the Walk To Read curriculum by purchasing books.
Assist cafeteria staff by serving lunch to the students from 10:30am – 12:15pm.
Our Library Liaison coordinates volunteer and projects for the library while our Library Aide assists the school librarian by helping children check out books, cataloging, and shelving books.
Our Classroom liaisons coordinate the volunteers in the classroom, assist in the planning of classroom parties. They work with the teacher to ensure all volunteer positions are filled.
We show our dedicated staff how much we value the quality education, professionalism, and caring they bring to our children each day throughout the entire school year. Staff Appreciation Week is in May in addition to various activities throughout the year. From snacks, meals, to cards & notes from Bethany families, are just a few of the ways we show the Bethany Staff how much we appreciate them.
Garden Club Leaders
Permits the BSPTO Garden Committee to solicit and receive grants under the BSPTO’s 501(c)(3) tax status to support the development of an on-site outdoor learning garden.
Beaverton School District’s Clothes Closet
The BSPTO supports the Beaverton School District’s Clothes Closet, which provides free clothing for students in grades K-12 for families with limited income, by making an annual donation to the Clothes Closet to support this valuable program. For more information about Clothes Closet, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator.
Cub Scout Pack 848
Pack 848 is chartered by BSPTO. The BSPTO entered into an agreement with the Boy Scouts of America to provide Cub Scouting to the Bethany Elementary community. The BSPTO provides non-financial support to the Pack, such as a place to meet and organizational support. In turn, the pack provides the BSPTO and the community through service projects.
